NEW YORK – May 18, 2021 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54. The win marks 90 straight weeks (279 out of 281 weeks) in first place. TODAY also won in total viewers Monday. TODAY delivered three-week highs in total viewers and the key demo, growing in both versus the prior week.
Additionally, TODAY Digital reached 35 million total video starts last week, growing versus the prior week and year.
TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:
TODAY averaged 939,000 A25-54 viewers, leading GMA by +43,000 (+5%) and CBS This Morning by +364,000 (+63%)
- TODAY has now ranked #1 in the key demo for 90 consecutive weeks and 279 of the last 281 weeks
- Compared to prior week, TODAY increased its A25-54 viewership by +11,000 (+1%) and improved its demo advantage over CBS by 5% (+364,000 vs. +346,000 prior week)
TODAY averaged 686,000 A18-49 viewers, topping GMA by +92,000 (+16%) and CBS by +278,000 (+68%)
- TODAY posted its biggest A18-49 win over CBS in 10 weeks (since the week of 3/1/2021)
- Week-over-week, TODAY added +9,000 A18-49 viewers and widened its lead over CBS by 12% (+278,000 vs. +248,000 prior week)
