Wins Every Sunday Among Total Viewers in the Nation’s Capital in Six Years
Ranks #1 in Key Demo Season to Date for Six Straight Years
April 27, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo for the month of April, according to Nielsen Media Research.
#1 in Key Demo for 21 Straight Months
MTP continues to dominate in the demo most valued by news advertisers, winning its 21st consecutive month among A25-54 viewers. This marks MTP’s sixth straight April win.
MTP averaged 603,000 A25-54 viewers in April: +12 percent (+66,000) more than ABC’s This Week and four percent (+25,000) more than CBS’s Face the Nation. MTP averaged 2.826 million total viewers: three percent (+74,000) more than ABC. Season-to-date, MTP remains #1 in the key demo for six straight years.
Sunday’s broadcast averaged 2.745 million total viewers and 603,000 A25-54 viewers, and featured an interview with Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institutes of Health. Plus, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Michael Harrison, Baltimore Police Commissioner; and Keith Mayes, Associate Professor of African American and African Studies at the University of Minnesota, joined Chuck Todd for a discussion on racial justice and policing.
An additional 126,000 total viewers and 44,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
Reaches More Than 10 Million Video Views Across Digital for April
For the month of April, MTP delivered more than 10 million video views across digital platforms, up +15 percent month over month. On YouTube, the average MTP full episode reached more than 931,000 views and 726,000 viewers, up eight percent month over month.
Last week, MTP reached more than 3 million video views across digital platforms, up +26 percent week over week and two percent year over year. This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 564,000 views, up +40 percent week over week, and 451,000 viewers, up +46 percent compared to last week. And, the full episode that aired last Sunday, April 18 saw 674,000 views on YouTube and 542,000 viewers.
Six Years as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in six straight years (since March 22, 2015).
