Reaches More Than 50 Million Video Views Across Digital Platforms for 1Q’21

March 30, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo for the first quarter of 2021 (1Q’21) and the month of March, according to Nielsen Media Research.

#1 in Key Demo for 21st Consecutive Quarter; Tops Competition by Double Digits

MTP continues to dominate in the demo most valued by news advertisers, winning its 21st consecutive quarter among A25-54 viewers. The network broadcast also topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits in the key demo. 769,000 A25-54 viewers tuned into MTP, outperforming ABC’s This Week by +12 percent (+84,000) and CBS’ Face the Nation by +13 percent (+89,000). 

MTP averaged 3.580 million total viewers for the first quarter of 2021: +10 percent (+333,000) more than ABC. Just one percent separated MTP from CBS, which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast and follows the highly rated CBS Sunday Morning.

#1 in Key Demo for 20 Straight Months

MTP also won in the key demo for the month of March, marking its 20th straight month at #1 and the sixth straight year MTP has won March in the key demo. 614,000 A25-54 viewers tuned in for the month of March: four percent (+25,000) more than ABC and five percent (+27,000) more than CBS. 2.997 million total viewers tuned into MTP in March, five percent (+142,000) more than ABC. 

This past Sunday’s special edition broadcast featured an in-depth look at gun violence in America following the recent shootings in Boulder and Georgia, the history of Congressional inaction and where the debate over gun safety stands today, as well as interviews with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.); Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.); and Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. 

MTP averaged 2.720 million total viewers and 495,000 A25-54 viewers. An additional 240,000 total viewers and 103,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.

Reaches More Than 50 Million Video Views Across Digital for 1Q’21

For the first quarter of 2021, MTP’s full episodes and clips delivered more than 50 million video views across digital platforms, up +56 percent year over year. On YouTube, the average MTP full episode reached more than 1.6 million views, up +35 percent year over year, and 1.2 million viewers, up +25 percent year over year.

For the month of March, MTP’s full episodes and clips delivered more than 8 million video views across digital platforms. On YouTube, the average MTP full episode reached more than 900,000 views and 706,000 viewers.

MTP reached 1.9 million video views and 399,000 hours watched across digital platforms.

This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 466,000 views and 424,000 viewers. And, the full episode that aired last Sunday, March 21 saw 959,000 views on YouTube and 750,000 viewers.

Six Years as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C. 

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in six years (since March 22, 2015).
