Sept. 24, 2020Meet the Press Reports, anchored by NBC News Political Director and Meet the Press Moderator Chuck Todd, debuts tonight, Thursday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. ET. The new show is available on NBC News NOW, streaming live and on demand across OTT platforms, including Peacock, NBCUniversal’s new streaming service. 

Starting this week, the once-weekly 30-minute program will focus on a single topic explored through the Meet the Press lens. In its first season, as the 2020 presidential election nears, Meet the Press Reports with Chuck Todd will lead viewers through deep-dives on pivotal election issues, historical moments and under-reported political issues with long-form interviews, expert discussions, historical archives, and more.

In the first episode, Chuck Todd explores the issue: How to win a presidential debate. He is joined by experts from both sides of the aisle who have been involved in presidential debate prep dating back to the ‘80s, including: 

  • Presidential campaign lawyer Robert Barnett
  • Former Republican Senator from New Hampshire Judd Gregg
  • Senior communications strategist for George W. Bush’s 2004 campaign and communications director for Bush’s 2000 presidential campaign Karen Hughes
  • White House press secretary under Bill Clinton Michael McCurry
  • Director of messaging for John McCain’s presidential campaign and debate coach for George W. Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney Brett O’Donnell
  • White House communications director for Sec. Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign Jennifer Palmieri
  • Campaign manager for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign David Plouffe
  • Former spokesman for Sec. Hillary Clinton Philippe Reines
  • Senior campaign strategist and adviser to John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign Steve Schmidt
  • Adviser to Al Gore and John Kerry’s presidential campaigns Bob Shrum
  • Director of the National Economic Council under Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton Gene Sperling
  • Former RNC Chairman Michael Steele
  • And, former chief strategist for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign Stuart Stevens

Meet the Press Reports adds to Meet the Press’ portfolio of brands including MTP Daily at 1 p.m. ET on MSNBC; Meet the Press: First Read, a daily morning newsletter capturing what’s driving the day in politics; The Chuck ToddCast, a mid-week podcast discussing the week’s top political news with lawmakers and top journalists; the Meet the Press Film Festival, entering its fourth year later this fall, showcasing the best in issue-based documentary shorts; and Meet the Press: College Roundtable, a limited digital series bringing together college journalism students from across the country to interview decision-makers about policies most impacting their lives. 

Meet the Press Reports airs weekly on NBC News NOW, streaming live, at 8 p.m., 11 p.m., 2 a.m. and at noon ET on Fridays, and on demand on Peacock.
