Tops Competition By Double Digits In Key Demo
Only Sunday Show To Grow Week Over Week
Ranks #1 Across The Board Season To Date
August 11, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, August 9, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Peter Navarro, Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy; Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Senate Minority Whip; Dr. Tom Inglesby, Director of the Center for Health Security of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as interviews with a third grade teacher and a school nurse as part of NBC News’ ‘Coronavirus and the Classroom’.
MTP averaged 3.203 million total viewers: +17 percent (+456,000) more than ABC’s This Week and one percent (+23,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. Compared to last week, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow and was up two percent (+55,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +13 percent (+362,000).
MTP was also #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers and topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 692,000 A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +20 percent (+116,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +27 percent (+146,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. Compared to last week, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow and was up eight percent (+53,000).
An additional 1.103 million total viewers and 221,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
