Wins 13 out of the Last 14 Sweep Periods Across the Board

August 3, 2020 – Dateline NBC is the #1 Friday newsmagazine during the July sweep period, topping ABC’s 20/20 by double-digits across the board in all key measurements, including total viewers, the key news demo A25-54 and the key primetime demo A18-49. This marks the sixth straight sweep win and Dateline’s 13th across-the-board win out of the last 14 sweep periods.
For the July sweep period, Dateline averages 3.127 million viewers, topping 20/20 by +10% (+287,000). Among the A25-54 demo, Dateline averages 873,000 viewers, outperforming 20/20 by +17% (+125,000). The broadcast also notches 613,000 viewers in the all-important A18-49 demo, leading 20/20 by +19% (+97,000).
Additionally, Dateline on Mondays was the #1 program for all of television in total viewers for the 10pm – 11 pm hour during the July 2020 sweep period and topped CBS and ABC across the board for the same time slot.
Among total viewers, the Monday broadcast averages 3.364 million, leading CBS’s Bull by +3% (+100,000) and more than doubling ABC’s Bachelor: Greatest Seasons by +105% (+1.727 million). In A18-49 viewers, Dateline averages 665,000 viewers, beating CBS by +59% (+248,000) and ABC by +102% (+336,000). The broadcast also averages 942,000 A25-54 viewers, +49% (+310,000) higher than CBS and ABC by +118,000% (+509,000).
