#1 Most-Watched Sunday Show in Total Viewers this Past Sunday
Wins Every Sunday with Total Viewers in Washington for Over Four Straight Years
October 1, 2019 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the month of September, according to Nielsen Media Research.
This marks MTP’s second consecutive monthly win and second straight September across-the-board win. An average of 2.948 million total viewers tuned into MTP in September: eight percent (+212,000) more than ABC’s This Week and three percent (+83,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation.
MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers in September. 678,000 key demo viewers tuned in for the month: four percent (+24,000) more than ABC and seven percent (+43,000) more than CBS.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
MTP was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in total viewers this past Sunday, September 29. Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Rep. Adam Schiff, Rep. Steve Scalise, and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, and averaged 3.281 million total viewers: +10 percent (+294,000) more than ABC and nine percent (+260,000) more than CBS. Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up +13 percent in total viewers.
757,000 A25-54 viewers tuned in to MTP on Sunday, topping CBS by +16 percent (+106,000). Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up +14 percent (+91,000).
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday in total viewers for more than four straight years (since March 22, 2015).
An additional 1.292 million total viewers and 395,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
