June 25, 2019 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) won this past Sunday, June 23 as the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured an exclusive one-on-one interview with President Donald Trump from the White House, his first time joining the Sunday program since being sworn in as president. In the wide-ranging interview, President Trump shared the “do-over” he’d like as president, and addressed his decision to call off a planned military strike on Iran, his child separation policy, his view on National Security Adviser John Bolton, and much more.
MTP was the only Sunday show to deliver more than three million total viewers, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. With 3.100 million total viewers tuning in, MTP led ABC’s This Week by +25 percent (+614,000) and CBS’ Face the Nation by +27 percent(+656,000). This marks the broadcast’s 50th straight win over ABC in total viewers. Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up ten percent (+271,000), and compared to last year, MTP grew by six percent (+188,000).
MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers, again topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 754,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +20 percent (+124,000) more than ABC and +69 percent (+308,000) more than CBS. Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up +17 percent (+108,000), and compared to last year, MTP grew by three percent (+21,000).
Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in seven years and CBS in eight years.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition combined across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers for more than four straight years (since March 22, 2015).
An additional 1.355 million total viewers and 267,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
Chuck Todd will moderate the first Democratic presidential debate alongside Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie, Rachel Maddow and José Díaz-Balart tomorrow Wednesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 27.
