Beats Competition by Double Digits in the Key Demo in May
May 29, 2019 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the month of May, according to Nielsen Media Research.
2.994 million total viewers tuned into MTP in May: +16 percent (+411,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +0.1 percent (+3,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This is the 24rd straight month MTP has beaten ABC, and the 18th straight month MTP has beaten CBS in total viewers. May also marks MTP’s 18th consecutive monthly win and second straight May win.
MTP continues to dominate in the demo most valued by news advertisers, winning its 20th consecutive month among A24-54 viewers. 703,000 key demo viewers tuned in for the month of May, as MTP outperformed its competition by double-digits: +12 percent (+76,000) more than ABC and +17 percent (+103,000) more than CBS. May marks the 20th straight month MTP has beaten ABC, and the 40th straight month MTP has beaten CBS in the key demo. This is also MTP’s fourth straight May win.
This past Sunday featured exclusive interviews with White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib. MTP was retitled and not rated this past Sunday, May 26 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in seven years and CBS in eight years.
