NOVEMBER 20, 2018 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the November sweep period, according to Nielsen Media Research data, winning its fourth straight sweep period.

An average of 3.329 million total viewers tuned into the broadcast during the sweep period: +540,000 (+19 percent) more than ABC’s This Week and +285,000 (nine percent) ahead of CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks the broadcast’s best streak in nearly seven years (since the February 2012 sweep). In total viewers, this is the fourth consecutive sweep in which MTP has topped CBS and the 13th straight sweep in which the broadcast has beat ABC. Compared to last year, MTP was up by two percent (+61,000), posting its best November sweep delivery in two years (since the November 2016 sweep). Year over year, MTP improved its lead over ABC by +88 percent (+252,000) and topped CBS (+285,000 vs. -222,000 last year), marking its best November advantage over ABC in seven years and CBS in eight years. Since the July sweep this year, MTP grew by +16 percent (+455,000) and increased its lead over ABC by +90 percent (+256,000) and CBS by +124 percent (+158,000).

An average of 870,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into MTP during the November sweep period, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits: +192,000 (+28 percent) more than ABC and +162,000 (+23 percent) ahead of CBS. This marks the 13th straight sweep period in which MTP is #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers, its best streak in over nine years (since the May 2009 sweep). Compared to last year, MTP more than tripled its lead over ABC (+192,000 vs. +63,000 last year) and increased its advantage over CBS by +22 percent (+29,000), posting its biggest November leads over ABC and CBS in two years (since the November 2016 sweep). Since the July sweep this year, MTP was up +17 percent (+124,000) and grew its lead over ABC by +85 percent (+88,000).

MTP was also the most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, November 18, marking the show’s 42nd straight win in the demo most valued by news advertisers, its best streak in over 18 years (since October 15, 2000). Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).

795,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +37 percent (+215,000) more than ABC and four percent (+28,000) more than CBS. Compared to last year, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow in the key demo and was up by two percent (+19,000), beating ABC (+215,000 vs. -126,000 last year) and CBS (+28,000 vs. -60,000).

3.232 million total viewers tuned into the Sunday program, topping ABC for the 24th straight broadcast: +21 percent (+561,000) more than ABC. Compared to last year, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow in total viewers and was up by +6 percent (+182,000) and increased its lead over ABC by more than 6X (+561,000 vs. +93,000 last year). Compared to last week, MTP increased its lead over ABC by +48 percent (+183,000).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board, delivering its best total viewer lead over ABC in seven seasons (since 2011-12).

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers for more than three straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.184 million total viewers and 354,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
