NEW YORK (September 12, 2018) – Starting October 8, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt hits the road on his third nation-wide “Across America” tour. Spread across five states in five days, Holt drills down on the issues that impact Americans in their hometowns and highlights those working to strengthen their communities and inspire others. “Across America” engages in conversations beyond the breaking news from Washington to zero-in on the challenges facing Americans just weeks before many head to the voting booth.
Holt will anchor NBC Nightly News from Houston, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; Montgomery, Alabama; San Diego, California and Tampa, Florida.
Earlier this spring, Holt traveled to Portland, Oregon; Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina where he reported on topics including job creation, reducing crime and opioid addiction. The series began in January 2017 when Holt crossed the country speaking to Americans about the nation’s most pressing issues leading up to Inauguration Day.
