#1 in A18-49 Demo Also for 13 Straight Sweeps
NEW YORK (July 27, 2018) – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” ranked #1 in the key demo for the July 2018 sweep period according to Nielsen Research data.
The broadcast averaged 1.5 million A25-54 viewers, leading “ABC World News Tonight” by +9,000 viewers (+1%) and “CBS Evening News” by +453,000 viewers (+41%). “Nightly News” has finished #1 in the demo for 13 consecutive sweep periods and 39 of the last 42 sweeps. The NBC News broadcast’s July sweep advantage over CBS increased for the third straight year (+8% vs July 2017).
Among A18-49, “Nightly News” averaged 1.1 million viewers for the sweep period, topping ABC by +4,000 (+0.4%) and CBS by +302,000 (+40%). “Nightly News” has been #1 in A18-49 for 13 straight sweeps and 43 of the last 44 sweeps.
“Nightly News” averaged 7.2 million total viewers for July 2018 sweep, leading CBS Evening News by +1.8 million viewers (+32%). “Nightly News” improved its lead over CBS by +11% (+172,000) from the July 2017 sweep. The broadcast delivered its biggest July sweep total viewer win over CBS since 2012.
