AUGUST 29, 2017 – “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the month of August, according to Nielsen data.

The network broadcast delivered its biggest audiences in both total viewers and in the key demo in nine years (since 2008). It was also the only Sunday show to post year-over-year growth across all audiences and to post double-digit growth month-over-month across the board.

Averaging 3.443 million total viewers for the month of August, MTP beat CBS’ “Face the Nation” by seven percent (+221,000) and ABC’s “This Week” by +13 percent (+396,000). This is the network broadcast’s biggest total viewer audience for August since 2008, marking the show’s biggest win over CBS in five years and over ABC in six years. Compared to August 2016, MTP grew ten percent in total viewers. The broadcast also grew +16 percent in total viewers compared to last month – more than doubling its lead over ABC (+396,000 vs. +196,000).

Winning its 19th straight month, MTP continues to dominate the demo most valued by news advertisers with an average of 1.025 million A25-54 viewers tuning into the program for August. MTP outperformed its competition by double-digits: +35 percent (+265,000) more than CBS and +19 percent (+162,000) more than ABC. The show delivered its biggest August wins in the key demo over CBS in nine years and over ABC in five years. MTP grew five percent among key demo viewers compared to August 2016, and its A25-54 viewership increased +17 percent compared to July 2017, improving its advantages over CBS’ half-hour by 37 percent and ABC by 32 percent.

MTP was retitled this past Sunday, August 27. Audience numbers will not be reflected in quarter or season-to-date ratings.
