Kate Snow Reports on Risks of Dentists Giving Children Sedatives

July 6, 2017 – On “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly,” NBC News and Kelly dive into a startling new study from NYU, Princeton and the University of Illinois that shows gender stereotypes develop in girls at a much younger age than many of us think. To demonstrate the experiment and its conclusion, NBC News recruited 26 children and used the same methods from the study, interviewing the researchers, as well as the children and their parents. Researchers say girls’ beliefs about their abilities are being limited from as young as age 6, and gender-stereotyping can influence which careers young woman will pursue when they get older. “That’s a call to arms,” says one of the researchers. Also on “Sunday Night,” NBC News correspondent Craig Melvin goes inside the fight over charter schools by visiting an all-boys high school in West Philadelphia. In the report, he also sits down with Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos in an exclusive interview.

Kelly also interviews pop music superstar Ed Sheeran in a revealing, sit-down interview for “Sunday Night” in which Sheeran discusses his life, career and future. The singer-songwriter addresses his recent Twitter comments in the interview with Kelly, and previews his upcoming “Game of Thrones” cameo.

Additionally, NBC News correspondent Kate Snow reports on the risks of dentists giving children sedatives. Most of the time it’s perfectly safe, but a string of recent deaths and injuries is raising calls for change across the country. On “Sunday Night,” Snow brings the story of two families looking for answers.
