Sunday Night Delivers +52% Increase in A18-49 Viewers From Same Sunday Timeslot Last Season

The NBC News Broadcast Grows Season Timeslot Average by +2 Million Total Viewers

NEW YORK (June 5, 2017) – The premiere of “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” topped CBS’ “60 Minutes” in the key A18-49 and A25-54 demos on June 4, outperforming 60 Minutes by +26% (+210,000) among A18-49 viewers and +28% (+310,000) among A25-54 viewers. In those demos, Sunday Night ranked as the #1 broadcast in its timeslot (7 – 8 p.m.) among broadcast networks, excluding sports-related programming.

Versus the same Sunday timeslot last season, Sunday Night was up across the board in total viewers (+51%, or +2.1 million), A18-49 viewers (+52%, or +353,000), and A25-54 viewers (+40%, or +404,000). Compared to the season average, Sunday Night saw double-digit improvements in the time slot (excluding sports and awards shows): up +48% (+1.98 million) in total viewers, +25% (+204,000) among A18-49 viewers, and +32% (+343,000) among A25-54 viewers.

Among A18-49, the NBC News broadcast delivered the best advantage for an NBC newsmagazine against 60 Minutes since August 19, 2012.

Sunday Night averaged 6.14 million total viewers. Excluding sports, Sunday Night gave NBC its highest total viewer delivery in the time slot since March 20, 2016

  • The premiere of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly outperformed 60 Minutes by +26% (+210,000) among A18-49 viewers and +28% (+310,000) among A25-54 viewers.
  • Sunday Night ranked #2 from 7 – 8 p.m. among broadcast nets in A18-49 and A25-54 (#1 in these demos excluding sports-related programming on ABC).
  • This was the best A18-49 advantage for an NBC newsmagazine against 60 Minutes since August 19, 2012.
  • Excluding sports, Sunday Night gave NBC its highest total viewer delivery in the timeslot since March 20, 2016.
  • Versus the same Sunday time slot last season, Sunday Night was up across the board in total viewers (+51%, or +2.1 million), A18-49 viewers (+52%, or +353,000), and A25-54 viewers (+40%, or +404,000).
  • Sunday Night saw double-digit improvements over NBC’s season-to-date average in the time slot (excluding sports and awards shows): up +48% (+1.98 million) in total viewers, +25% (+204,000) among A18-49 viewers, and +32% (+343,000) among A25-54 viewers.
