Goodell Tells Lauer: “Every player, every team is subject to the same rules”

NEW YORK – September 11, 2016 – In a TODAY exclusive, Matt Lauer sat down with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Portions of the interview aired this morning on “Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist” (embeddable link below), and more will air tonight during “SundayNight Football.”
When asked about Tom Brady’s suspension, Goodell told Lauer: “Every player, every team is subject to the same rules. We don’t have rules for marquee players and we don’t have rules for marquee teams. Everybody plays under the same rules.”
In addition to Deflategate, Goodell discussed Colin Kaepernick and recent player protests as well as concussions. The interview will air Wednesday, September 14 on TODAY.
