NBC Broadcast Delivers 17th Straight Total Viewer Win
OCTOBER 20, 2015 – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” was #1 in total viewers and all categories for the week of October 12-16, marking its 12th straight across-the-board win and 16th in the 17 weeks since Holt was named anchor. The NBC broadcast has been #1 in total viewers for 17 straight weeks, 22 of the past 25 weeks and 310 of the last 317 weeks.
Season to date, Nightly is the #1 evening newscast over ABC in total viewers (+2%) , A25-54 (+6%) and A18-49 (+11%). The NBC broadcast’s current +106,000 A25-54 lead over ABC is a 254% turnaround from its -69,000 deficit during the first four weeks of the 2014-2015 season.
Weekly Highlights:
- Nightly averaged 7.840 million total viewers, outperforming ABC by +32,000 and CBS by +1.194 million.
- Nightly averaged 1.852 million A25-54 viewers, +121,000 (+7%) ahead of ABC and +427,000 (+30%) more than CBS.
- Nightly delivered a 1.56 A25-54 rating, +1 tenth ahead of ABC and +4 tenths more than CBS.
- Nightly averaged 1.303 million A18-49 viewers, topping ABC by +117,000 (+10%) and CBS by +347,000 (+36%).
