Nightly is #1 Across-the-Board for 11th time in 12 Weeks; 12th Straight Total Viewer Win

NBC Broadcast Draws Over 8 Million Viewers for 4th Week in a Row

SEPTEMBER 15, 2015 – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” was #1 in total viewers and all demos for the week of September 7-11, marking its seventh straight across-the-board victory and 12th consecutive win among total viewers.

Compared to the same week last season, Nightly reversed the demo gap with ABC by +270% (from a -81,000 loss last year to a +150,000 win this year) and widened its leads in both total viewers (up +15%) and A18-49 viewers (up +43%).

The NBC broadcast has averaged over 8 million viewers for four weeks in a row and more than 2 million demo viewers for three straight weeks.

Nightly has been #1 among total viewers all 12 weeks since Holt was named anchor and #1 across the board for 7 straight weeks and 11 out of the 12 weeks. Nightly has now won among total viewers for 17 of the last 20 weeks, and 305 of the last 312 weeks.

Season-to-date, Nightly is #1 in total viewers, A25-54, and A18-49.

  • Nightly delivered a 1.7 A25-54 rating, +1 tenth more than ABC and +5 tenths more than CBS.
  • Nightly averaged 1.462 million A18-49 viewers, +181,000 (+14%) higher than ABC and +520,000 (+55%) more than CBS.
  • Nightly delivered a 1.2 A18-49 rating, +1 tenth more than ABC and +4 tenths more than CBS.
