NBC NEWS 2016 CAMPAIGN EMBEDS

NBC News Political Director and Moderator of “Meet the Press” Chuck Todd sent the following note to NBC News and msnbc staff:

On behalf of the entire political team, I’m pleased to announce the 2016 class of NBC News campaign embeds. These sharp young journalists were chosen from an impressive pool of candidates through a rigorous and competitive selection process, and I’m proud to say many come from a variety of beats and shows within the NBC News family.

Join me in congratulating:

  • Monica Alba, NBC News Investigations
  • Shaquille Brewster, NBC 2014 Tim Russert Fellow
  • Jordan Frasier, “Meet the Press”
  • Danny Freeman, “NBC Nightly News”
  • Vaughn Hillyard, Researcher for Andrea Mitchell
  • Alexandra Jaffe, CNN Politics
  • Kailani Koenig-Muenster, MSNBC
  • Ali Vitali, MSNBC

They will be indispensable players in our zone coverage of the crowded primary field and key early states, and will quickly become our eyes and ears on the trail as the race heats up. As multi-skilled, multi-platform reporters, the embeds will contribute extensively across all broadcasts, NBCNews.com, and MSNBC. They will be equipped with the full support of network-wide resources, including editorial guidance from leadership and cutting-edge digital technology such as LiveU and Latakoo.

They officially begin their new roles this week and will complete a training program over the coming weeks before deploying across the country. Stay tuned for details on their coverage assignments — and in the meantime, follow them on Twitter: http://bit.ly/1IMB0DZ.

NBC News has deployed campaign embeds since 2004 and each cycle, the NBC embeds have been recognized as the most vigilant and prepared political reporters on the beat. We know the class of 2016 will continue this great tradition and are eager to see what they accomplish.
