App includes live streaming news feeds, original video series, and exclusive content from TODAY, NBC Nightly News and Meet the Press
NBC News launched its first app on the Amazon Fire TV platform today, enabling users to instantly access the latest news and live video with the click of a button. NBC News on Amazon Fire TV combines live streaming video, breaking news, original series and the best of TODAY, NBC Nightly News and Meet the Press all in one place, available 24/7. Upon opening the app, users can dive into a top news playlist, curated by the NBC News video team exclusively for Amazon Fire TV. Additional features of the new NBC News app include:
- Live Streaming Feeds: available to users who want unlimited access to live press conferences, events and up-to-the-minute breaking news coverage.
- Top segments and interviews from TODAY, NBC Nightly News and Meet the Press broadcasts, all available directly on the app.
- Specialty Playlists: focused on topics like world news and politics, as well as big events like Election 2016.
- TODAY, NBC Nightly News and Meet the Press channels will each feature signature franchises like TODAY’s Caught on Camera, NBC Nightly News’ Making a Difference and Meet the Press’ Compressed, which condenses the day’s show into a 90 second highlight reel.
Additional offerings include:
- Flashback: an original series fueled by NBC News’ expansive video archive; this series will also include “RetroTech,” a nostalgic look back at the technology of yesteryear.
- Digital Originals: exclusive video segments that you will not find on the live broadcast, like Nightly Films or TODAY’s Shortcuts. These series are produced in a variety of compelling formats, from animation to vérité documentary, all powered by the depth and authority of NBC News.
- Meet the Candidates: a series of probing interviews with Presidential candidates from one of the finest and enduring names in political journalism, Meet the Press.
