NBC Broadcast Continues to Post Across-the-Board Growth Versus Season-to-Date Averages
FEBRUARY 18, 2015– “NBC Nightly News” was America’s #1 evening newscast in both total viewers and the key demo A25-54 for the week of February 9-13, 2015, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The NBC broadcast has been #1 among total viewers for 282 consecutive weeks, and among viewers A25-54 for 6 consecutive weeks, 10 of the last 11 weeks, and 12 of the last 15 weeks.
Nightly continued to post growth compared to its season-to-date averages in total viewers (+84,000), A25-54 viewers (+77,000), A18-49 viewers (+3,000). Versus season-to-date A25-54 levels, Nightly News’ lead this week is +32% higher than the season lead over ABC and +12% higher than the season lead over CBS.
Season-to-date, Nightly is the #1 evening news program in total viewers and all key demographics. Nightly is averaging 9.350 million total viewers this season, leading ABC by +587,000 (+7%) and CBS by +2.015 million (+27%). Nightly is averaging 2.219 million A25-54 viewers, +38,000 (+2%) more than ABC and +452,000 (+26%) more than CBS.
NOTE: Year-ago comparisons are versus the first full week of the Sochi Olympics.
