NEW YORK – October 2, 2014 – NBC’s TODAY continues to gain momentum and post significant ratings growth. Year-to-date, TODAY has narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA by 9% versus the same period last year. For the week of September 29, TODAY gained 30k in total viewers while GMA declined a whopping 127k versus the prior week.
TODAY also grew 127k in total viewers and 62k in A25-54 versus its 3Q’14 average. TODAY ranks as the #1 morning news broadcast in A18-49 year-to-date.
TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:
- TODAY cuts total viewer gap with GMA By 9% year-to-date, versus the same time period last year
- TODAY ranks the number-one morning news show in A18-49 year-to-date
- Versus its 3Q’14 average, TODAY was up in total viewers (+3%, or +127,000) and A25-54 viewers (+4%, or +62,000)
- Week-to-week, TODAY added +30,000 total viewers (+1%) while GMA declined by -127,000 viewers (-2%)
- Last week, TODAY averaged 4.455 million total viewers, +41% (+1.291 million) more than CBS This Morning
- Last week, TODAY averaged 1.713 million A25-54 viewers, leading CBS by +69% (+698,000)
- Last week, TODAY’s 1.4 A25-54 rating beat CBS by +75% (+6 tenths)
