TODAY Cuts Total Viewer Gap with GMA By 10% Year-to-Date TODAY Posts Growth in Total Viewers and A18-49 Versus Its 3Q’14 Average TODAY Is the #1 Morning News Show in A18-49 Year-to-Date

NEW YORK – October 2, 2014 – NBC’s TODAY continues to gain momentum and post significant ratings growth. For the 2014 calendar year-to-date, TODAY has narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA by 10%. TODAY also posted growth in total viewers and the key demographics of A18-49 and W/M25-54, versus its 3Q’14 average. TODAY ranks as the #1 morning news broadcast in A18-49 year-to-date.

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • In 2014 calendar year-to-date, TODAY has narrowed the gap with GMA in total viewers by 10%
  • Versus its 3Q’14 average, TODAY was up in total viewers (+2%, or +97,000), rating W/A18-49 (+7%/+10%), and rating W/M25-54 (+6%/+11%)
  • TODAY averaged 4.425 million total viewers, +48% (+1.439 million) more than CBS for the week
  • TODAY averaged 1.731 million A25-54 viewers, +75% (+744,000) ahead of CBS for the week
  • TODAY’s 1.4 A25-54 rating led CBS by +75% (+6 tenths)
  • TODAY averaged 1.398 million A18-49 viewers, more than doubling CBS by +108% (+725,000) for the week
  • TODAY had a 1.1 A18-49 rating, leading CBS by +120% (+6 tenths)
