Sept. 5, 2024 – MSNBC will deliver full coverage and analysis of the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump hosted by ABC News on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in Philadelphia, PA. 

RACHEL MADDOW TO LEAD MSNBC’S SPECIAL PRIMETIME COVERAGE BEGINNING AT 7 P.M. ET

  • At 7 p.m. ET, Rachel Maddow will lead MSNBC’s debate pre-game special coverage, joined by Nicolle WallaceJoy ReidAri MelberChris HayesLawrence O’DonnellStephanie Ruhle and Jen Psakifrom New York. Alex Wagner will report from the ground in Philadelphia.
  • At 9 p.m. ET, MSNBC will simulcast the ABC Presidential Debate with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. 
  • Following the debate, Maddow will continue special coverage with the full team in New York and Wagner reporting live from the spin room in Philadelphia. 
  • Jen Psaki will pick up special coverage from 12 a.m. midnight until 2 a.m. ET, joined by Michael SteeleSymone Sanders-Townsend, Alicia Menendez and other special guests throughout. 

MSNBC’S SPECIAL COVERAGE OF THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE KICKS OFF STARTING AT 6 A.M. ET

  • On the morning of the presidential debate, Morning Joe will kick off MSNBC’s special coverage with in-depth reporting and analysis from top political reporters and newsmakers previewing the debate. The next morning, on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Morning Joe will feature special post-debate coverage with reaction and analysis from top political reporters and newsmakers.

MSNBC ANCHORS AND ANALYSTS TO REPORT LIVE FROM PHILADELPHIA

  • Beginning at 10 a.m. ET, MSNBC Reports will provide on-the-ground coverage live from Philadelphia throughout the day, featuring Ana CabreraJosé Díaz-BalartAndrea MitchellChris Jansing and Katy Tur
  • MSNBC political analysts Claire McCaskill and Tim Miller will be on the ground in Philadelphia to provide insight and analysis across MSNBC.
  • NBC News chief White House correspondent Peter Alexander, White House correspondent Monica Alba, and Washington correspondent Yamiche Alcindor will report on the Harris campaign from Philadelphia.
