CNBC Names UK’s Top 150 Fintech Companies of 2025 in Partnership with Statista

CNBC

LONDON, September 17, 2025 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, has named the top fintech companies in the UK as part of its continuing collaboration with Statista, a leading international provider of market and consumer data.

For the first time, CNBC and Statista have published a dedicated UK fintech ranking. The list of 150 companies is categorized into seven different market segments; payments, neobanking, alternative financing, wealth technology, digital assets, enterprise fintech, and insurtech,

Of the top 150 companies, 131 are based in London, underscoring the city’s continued dominance in the sector. Cardiff and Manchester each account for four of the 150 top UK fintechs, marking them both as fast-emerging regional fintech hubs.

CNBC published the list across its platforms, including a digital report on CNBC.com and international business-day programming. Visit CNBC.com to see which fintech companies made the list.

Statista’s methodology combined publicly available data with an open application process, allowing companies to submit key performance indicators (KPIs) for consideration. Both overarching and segment-specific KPIs were analyzed and weighted, then translated into a scoring model to calculate each company’s final score and identify the top fintech firms in each market segment. Read more about the methodology here.

The UK top 150 fintech list builds on CNBC’s global top 300 fintech list, published earlier this year in partnership with Statista. Applications for the next iteration of CNBC’s global top fintech list open in early 2026, and companies can pre-register now to be notified when the application period opens.
