BANGKOK, 21 August 2023 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced the agenda for the first edition of its upcoming summit, ‘CNBC Connect: ASEAN and Beyond’, which is set to take place on Tuesday 19 September 2023 in Bangkok.
The one-day event will convene C-suite executives and key decision makers from across Asia to exchange ideas, collaborate and innovate. CNBC anchors and reporters will lead high-level discussions on the critical issues facing the region in one-on-one fireside chats and panel discussions. There will also be opportunity for attendees to participate in exclusive brainstorming sessions and networking.
As the region recovers from the pandemic, challenges remain with factors such as inflation, financial vulnerabilities, and geopolitics impacting growth. In a panel discussion, Christine Tan, CNBC’s anchor for the network’s longest running feature programme ‘Managing Asia’, will speak to leaders about building resilient businesses that can compete and grow in the future economy.
CNBC’s Teymoor Nabili will address the topic of climate change at a critical inflection point – and establish what leaders in the public and private sector are doing to tackle investments and structural changes to ensure Asia’s economies reach their environmental targets.
Journalist and former CNBC anchor, Lorraine Hahn, will host a selection of fireside chats with prominent business leaders from the region, including the Chairman of B.Grimm, Harald Link, President of Bangkok Bank, Chartsiri Sophonpanich and Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Piwat.
John Casey, President and Managing Director of CNBC International, said: “I’m thrilled to be announcing ‘CNBC Connect: ASEAN and Beyond’, as CNBC continues to branch out globally with leadership events that inspire, bring about conversation and build community. I am excited to see the first edition of the summit take place in one of Asia’s most vibrant economies. Through thought-provoking interviews and panel discussions, it will give attendees unparalleled access to leaders of some of the biggest businesses in the region.”
‘CNBC Connect: ASEAN and Beyond’ is organized in partnership with Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited, Siam Piwat Company Limited, ICONSIAM, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand, and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
