List Recognizes Firms Offering Creative Ways to Advise Clients and Help Navigate Their Financial Lives

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., October 6, 2021 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced the 2021 CNBC FA 100, a ranked list that recognizes the top advisory firms that are helping clients navigate through their financial lives. The advisory firms on the CNBC FA 100 list average 34.8 years in business and have more than $440 billion in investor assets under management.

From job loss to nearly depleted retirement accounts, the coronavirus pandemic saw much of the population struggle with their finances. As a result, many people decided to seek help from a financial professional to get them back on track. While the aftershock of the pandemic lingers, it has forced many to reevaluate their lives and take charge of the uncertainty.

The list was selected from more than 700 qualifying firms using a proprietary methodology developed by CNBC in partnership with data provider AccuPoint Solutions. The analysis started with an initial list of more than 38,000 registered investment advisory firms. Categories in the methodology include: assets under management, number of investment advisors registered with the firm, compliance records and total accounts under management, among others. CNBC and AccuPoint Solutions determined the weighting for each category, further refining and ranking the firms, ultimately creating the list of CNBC FA 100. All of the data collected from the RIAs was information culled from the firm’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The complete methodology can be found here.

CNBC revealed the list across the network’s platforms and will have special coverage throughout Business Day programming and on CNBC Digital. CNBC.com’s special report, CNBC.com/FA100, features articles that include a look at how the advisory firms were selected, insights from investment professionals on diversity issues within the financial advisory industry and how firms are building financial psychology into their practices, among others. Additionally, Joe Veranth, Chief Investment Officer of Dana Investment Advisors, will be interviewed on CNBC’s “Fast Money Halftime Report” (M-F, 12PM-1PM ET) today, Wednesday, October 6th.
