Today, Thursday, April 29th, CNBC’s “Power Lunch” (M-F 2PM – 3PM) kicks off the 2021 CNBC Stock Draft after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic, in which ten teams will compete virtually for the ultimate title of “Stock Draft Champion.” The financial fight is back and features notable competitors from all over the country including: Twitch Streamer Jason Frank; Professional Poker Player Maria Ho; NBA’s Miami Heat Star Andre Iguodala; Chief Investment Strategist and Portfolio Manager at Hightower Stephanie Link; Olympic Swimmer Ryan Murphy; Supermodel and Entrepreneur Petra Nemcova; O’Shares Investments Chairman and 2017 Stock Draft champion Kevin O’Leary; Mentalist Oz Pearlman; TikTok Star Josh Richards; and Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Seymour Asset Management Tim Seymour.

With a new list of fierce competitors, can Stock Draft veterans like Tim Seymour and Mr. Wonderful take the crown or will there be a surprise win from one of the new players? Does Petra Nemcova have the best shots, or will Maria Ho know the right bets to make? Will Ryan Murphy go for gold, or can Andre Iguodala score the final point and win the game? The stakes are high and anyone could take the 2021 title.

Each team will choose two investments from a pre-determined list of 60 stocks and commodities, spanning everything from new SPACs and IPOs to Reddit favorites, bitcoin, tech heavyweights and even some of the most beaten down names in the market. CNBC will then track the performance of each team’s two investments until the Friday before the NFL Super Bowl (February 11th, 2022) when the team with the best average appreciation will take all.
