CNBC Financial Wellness Initiative “Invest in You: Ready. Set. Grow.” to Feature Accessible Personal Finance Education Content for the Next Generation

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., March 29, 2021 – CNBC’s Invest in You: Ready. Set. Grow., a financial wellness initiative in partnership with Acorns, today announced its plan for special coverage during April in honor of Financial Literacy Month. The content, aimed at helping raise awareness about the importance of financial education, will provide accessible information for the next generation through original articles, videos and events.

Throughout the month, Invest in You: Ready. Set. Grow. will offer users financial literacy basics and actionable savings tips as well as insights into how to provide access to financial education resources and what it will take to level the playing field for future generations. CNBC will also produce creative vignettes highlighting key takeaways from interviews with highly regarded business figures including: Jay Clayton, former SEC Commissioner; Mellody Hobson, Ariel Investments Co-CEO & President; Daymond John, Entrepreneur and “Shark Tank” Co-Host; Mika Brzezinski, “Morning Joe” Co-Host and Creator of “Know Your Value”; Nan Morrison, Council for Economic Education President & CEO; Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks Owner and “Shark Tank” Co-Host; Marc Morial, National Urban League President; and Sol Trujillo, Latino Donor Collaborative Co-Founder, among others.

CNBC will also publish the “State of Financial Education” report, a series that focuses on the current financial education landscape and the states working to achieve personal finance education mandates. The series will look at the challenges associated with remote schooling, racial disparity in personal finance education, limitations within personal finance curriculums, and overall effectiveness of personal finance classes.

Additionally, CNBC’s Senior Personal Finance Correspondent Sharon Epperson will moderate three virtual town hall events in the coming weeks geared toward students and teachers in secondary and higher education. The events will focus on the role of financial education in schools and audience members will learn the personal finance skills needed to help achieve their money goals.
