Supermarket Shock: Crisis in America’s Food Supply offers an inside look at how COVID-19 rocked the nation’s food supply system, and how its many players—from farmers and manufacturers to wholesalers and grocers—scrambled to help it recover, putting themselves at personal risk to keep that supply moving.  As COVID-19 spread, that chain became tested nationwide as it never had been before. Faced with uncertainty, customers in the U.S. started to panic buy at supermarkets and wholesale stores, and shelves of certain products emptied out. Fear of contracting the virus dramatically changed how Americans shop, as millions turned to online ordering, store pickup or home delivery for the first time. CNBC documents this story over several weeks of the nation’s crisis.

Supermarket Shock: Crisis in America’s Food Supply premieres Tuesday, June 30th at 10p ET/PT.
