CNBC Spotlights 50 Fast-Growing, Innovative Private Startups

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., May 17, 2022− CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced the tenth annual CNBC Disruptor 50, a ranked list of fast-growing, innovative private startups harnessing breakthrough technology to develop novel business models and inspire change in public incumbents. The companies included on this year’s list take aim at a wide range of solutions to big societal problems – from untangling supply chains to controlling carbon emissions to democratizing access to financial services and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

The 50 companies on the 2022 list have a combined valuation of more than $552 billion, making it by far the highest-valued list in the ten-year history of the Disruptor 50. At least 41 of this year’s Disruptor 50 have a valuation of more than $1 billion, and at least 14 are worth more than $10 billion.

CNBC revealed the list across the network’s platforms and is featuring special coverage throughout Business Day programming and on CNBC Digital this week. CNBC.com’s special report, CNBC.com/Disruptors, features comprehensive profiles of the 50 companies, a deep dive on the emerging trends making news within many of the hot sectors highlighted in the list, a close look inside the number one Disruptor, as well as an explanation of how CNBC chose and ranked the companies that made the final cut. CNBC will also track each company’s progress throughout the year with the expectation that many will become perennial Disruptor 50 companies.

While this year includes eight Disruptors that have made the list for at least the fourth time, most of the 2022 list is made up of companies that have earned a spot for just the first or second time. This is a sign of a generational shift in the Disruptor 50 to a new group of mission-driven startups born in an era of social and political upheaval among mostly favorable market conditions, but now face the possibility of a recession and the potential for a much longer road to the public markets.

Following are the top ten 2022 CNBC Disruptor 50 companies:

1. Flexport

2. Brex

3.  Lineage Logistics

4.  Canva

5.  Guild Education

6.  Convoy

7.  Blockchain.com

8.  Stripe

9.  Dapper Labs

10. Pony.ai
